Mike. 26-year-old Wisconsin born-and-raised, working as a sports editor at a newspaper in Fond du Lac.
Trying to become a little more awesome every day.
I love movies, rock music, Brett Favre and my Wisconsin sports teams (Packers, Badgers, Brewers). You'll see a lot of each on here.
Some of my favorite bands include: Halestorm, Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, Trapt, Chevelle, Paramore, Sevendust, Disturbed, Flyleaf, Led Zeppelin and E.S. Posthumus
This is the coolest thing I’ve read in a while. It would be an absolute dream if something like this were to happen. God I love her.
“She has a secret dream to form a female super group — a modern version of the cult ’70s band THE RUNAWAYS — with SICK PUPPIES bassist Emma Anzai, SKILLET keyboardist Korey Cooper and drummer Jen Ledger, and ALICE COOPER guitarist Orianthi. She explained, “It’s funny, we secretly talk about it when we hang out. But the truth is that here we are, women in rock, and most of our influences come from our parents’ generation.”
I think this just took over as my current favorite song. It’s been in my iTunes for a while, but had never listened to it till just now. And wow, they’re bassist is unbelievably gorgeous. Even if she wasn’t in a band, she’d still be. But the fact that she plays bass in a rock band instantly makes her 10x as sexy.
I initially tried to rank them, but soon found that to be impossible.
My top 4 favorite bands of this past year would probably go:
1. Paramore - I always had them in my iTunes, but never really listened to them until late last year. I blame another follower for getting me hooked on them.
2. Chevelle - These guys just keep getting better. Their newest album, ‘Hats off to the Bull’ is the best I’ve heard in the past couple years out of anyone. They came on really strong in these past two months.
3. Apocalyptica - Just beautiful, beautiful music from these guys. Made me realize how much I love the cello and how much I need to learn how to play it.
4. Sick Puppies - Another band that I had all their music of, but didn’t really listen to until about 6 months ago. I didn’t discover their acoustic album until last month, and am in love with it. I’m also in love with their bassist, Emma Anzai.
Unbelievably beautiful song. My heart completely melts when the strings kick in at the 2:24 mark each time. I love when Emma sings. She’s got such a great voice!
L to R, top to bottom: Sick Puppies’ bassist Emma Anzai, Skillet drummer Jen Ledger, Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams and Halestorm’s guitarist/lead singer Lzzy Hale.
Four of the coolest chicks in rock. I think they should combine to form one super awesome and ridiculously good looking band.
Other awesome rock rocks include Christina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), Amy Lee (Evanescence), Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf), just to name a few.
